The Hytale system requirements are easy to sum up: 8 GB of RAM, an SSD with 10 GB free and a CPU around an Intel Core i5-7500 gets you the minimum, and 16 GB of RAM, 20 GB free and something like a Core i5-10400 gets you the recommended setup. It runs on Windows, Linux and Apple Silicon Macs. The specs are straight from store.hytale.com, checked October 24, 2026.
The short answer for most people asking "can my PC run Hytale?": if it's from the last several years and has an SSD, probably yes. The CPU and RAM matter more than the graphics card, which I'll get to.

The store adds that you need a graphics card with up-to-date drivers supporting at least OpenGL 4.1, and that future versions may also want Vulkan 1.3 and DirectX 12. It also says Hytale is early access, so expect these numbers to move as the game changes. If you've seen older tables quoting 12 GB for integrated graphics or a SATA SSD, those came from an earlier pre-launch post. The store list is the current one.
Can my laptop or integrated graphics run Hytale?
Probably, at the minimum settings. The official minimum even lists integrated chips: Intel UHD 620, Radeon Vega 6 and the Apple M1. That's a 1080p, 30 FPS target at a short view distance, so don't expect pretty. If you want 60 FPS at the longer view distance, the recommended list steps up to Intel Iris Xe or a Radeon 660M.
Hypixel's own advice, from a hardware post in December 2025, is to pick a laptop with a dedicated GPU over an integrated one if you're buying. It also says Hytale cares more about CPU and RAM than most games, so once your GPU clears the minimum, a better CPU or more memory will usually help more than a faster graphics card. That's true of voxel games in general.
Two things that eat performance:
- View distance. Doubling it from 192 to 384 quadruples the world around you. It's the single most impactful setting, so drop it first if you're struggling.
- Singleplayer. Your PC runs the game and the whole world simulation. On a multiplayer server, the server does that work and your machine just handles graphics and gameplay. If a weak PC chokes on singleplayer, joining a friend or a community server often runs better.
Mods raise the requirements too. Close other programs while you play.
Hytale on Mac
Hytale runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS Tahoe (26.0). The minimum is an M1 (any variant) and the recommended is an M2 (any variant). The Mac launcher on hytale.com is an Apple Silicon (arm64) download. Intel Macs aren't on the requirements list, and I wouldn't count on an older macOS either, since the store names Tahoe.
Hytale on Linux
Linux is supported on x64 with kernel 6.15. If your distro runs an older kernel, you're below the official requirement. The launcher on hytale.com comes as an x64 Flatpak.
Storage, internet and offline play
You need an SSD, with 10 GB free at the minimum and 20 GB free recommended. You need an internet connection to download the game and for periodic sign-in checks, but once it's installed you can play offline. For multiplayer, the store lists 2 Mbit/s at the minimum and 8 Mbit/s recommended. Hypixel's earlier post says normal play uses far less than the worst case, and upload speed barely matters.
Consoles and controllers
There's no console version. The store lists Windows, Linux and Mac only, and nothing I've seen announces Xbox, PlayStation or Switch. The store also says the game is missing key accessibility features such as controller support, so for now it's mouse and keyboard. Server requirements
Running your own server is a different job from playing. Hytale says its server runs on any device with at least 4 GB of memory and Java 25, on x64 or arm64. Memory use climbs with view distance, so read my Hytale dedicated server guide before you pick hardware.
How do the requirements compare with Minecraft?
It's a common gripe. Players on Reddit have compared Hytale's specs unfavourably with Minecraft's, and one summed up the minimum as "an 8 year old CPU, an 11 year old GPU."
