Terraria Secret Seeds: The Full List of All 37 and What Each One Does

Every phrase to type, what it does to your world, and the combinations that behave differently from either seed alone.

Terraria secret seeds are hidden world modifiers you unlock by typing a phrase into the Seed field when you create a world. Type beam me up, make the world, and it's full of teleporters. Capitals, spacing and punctuation don't matter, so beammeup and bEam-me_Up work too. There are 37 of them as of the 1.4.5.8 desktop patch (October 2026), and every phrase is in the tables below.

They arrived with the 1.4.5 update, so they don't exist in 1.4.4 or earlier. The game never tells you the phrases, and they're stored hashed, so players found them by guessing. 35 turned up in the days after the January 27, 2026 release, and the last of that batch, we don't even test for that, was found on February 6. Two more, electric boogaloo and calm before the storm, came in desktop patch 1.4.5.7.

How to enter a Terraria secret seed

  1. Start a new world and pick your size and difficulty like normal.
  2. Type the phrase into the Seed field, which sits under the world name field.
  3. Generate the world.

Once you've discovered a seed, it shows up in a Secret Seeds sub-menu of the seed menu, where you can switch it on and off without retyping. That toggle menu came in desktop patch 1.4.5.4, and in-game descriptions for every seed followed in 1.4.5.5. Console, Switch and mobile all got secret seeds in their own 1.4.5 updates. The toggle menu and the two newest seeds came in desktop patches, though, so on console, Switch or mobile don't count on them being there. Check your version first.

Secret seeds vs. special seeds

Special seeds are the nine you can pick right in the seed menu: Drunk World, Not the Bees, Celebration Mk 10, The Constant, For the Worthy, No Traps, Remix, Zenith and Skyblock. Secret seeds are the hidden ones, and they usually do less: reshape the world, paint it, or flip an event on permanently. A few still change real mechanics, like what NPCs sell. Both kinds can be switched on together.

Skyblock is a special seed, so it isn't one of the 37. If that's what you're after, I wrote a full Terraria skyblock seed guide. It also stacks with secret seeds, which I get to below.

Phrases are exactly what you'd type. The bits in quotes are the game's own descriptions.

Only tiles placed during world generation get painted. Anything you build later is normal.

Two of those names are traps. more traps please removes traps, and too easy is the opposite of easy. If you want a harder run, too easy, purify this and night of the living dead are the obvious starting points.

Combining secret seeds

Secret seeds stack with each other and with every special seed. Type each phrase once to discover it, then switch on the ones you want together in the Secret Seeds sub-menu. Most combos just add up, but some do something neither seed does alone:

The paint seeds get less dramatic as you stack more. With four or more secret seeds active, invisible plane only coats dangerous blocks like traps, spikes and boulders, and monochrome only paints treasure gray. x-ray vision and invisible plane on their own split the world 50/50 between Echo and Illuminant.

Turn on all 37 secret seeds plus every special seed except Skyblock and you get the True Zenith world, which the wiki calls the highest world difficulty possible.

Secret seeds with the Skyblock seed

This is where the combos get fun. With Skyblock on:

Read the skyblock seed guide first for how the loop works. If the idea of building up from a tiny island is what hooks you, my history of skyblock covers where it came from, and games like Terraria has other sandboxes to try when you've run through all 37 seeds.

Folly, if you like island starts

Folly is a free voxel game coming soon in early access where every player starts on their own small island. Here's how that loop works.
