Is MCC Island Safe? Chat, the Store, Age Advice and What Parents Should Know

A straight answer for parents and players on MCC Island: who runs it, what the store sells, how reporting works and what age it's for.

Is MCC Island safe? For a teenager who can handle public chat and a store, mostly yes: it's run by a real company (Noxcrew, the team behind the Minecraft Championship), it's free to join, and it has written rules, a /report command and optional 2FA. The things to watch are player-to-player trading scams, the store (no refunds, and one subscription auto-renews) and the age floor in Noxcrew's terms, which is 13 at the lowest.

Under that age, wait. I've got a list of safer Minecraft servers for kids for that gap.

Who runs MCC Island

Noxcrew runs it. Noxcrew Ltd is a London company, and its help centre describes it as the organisation which runs MCC Island. The terms of service call it their public Minecraft Java server. The official site also says it's not an official Minecraft product and isn't approved by or associated with Mojang.

What you're getting is a minigame hub. The homepage lists games like Battle Box, Sky Battle, Hole in the Wall, To Get to the Other Side, Parkour Warrior, Dynaball and Rocket Spleef Rush, plus fishing, quests, an Event Pass and a hub for cosmetics and trading. Several of those are PvP (Sky Battle is last team standing, Dynaball is PvP with TNT), so expect competitive, cartoonish fighting. For more of this style of server, see my roundups of Minecraft minigame servers and parkour servers.

Is MCC Island on Bedrock? Java only, one address

It's a Java Edition server. The official join page says it's free-to-play on Minecraft: Java Edition and lists no Bedrock address, so don't go hunting for one. To join on Java: Multiplayer, Add Server, paste play.mccisland.net, set Server Resource Packs to Enabled, then Done.

That address is the one on the official site and store. Use it and nothing else. If someone in a chat or a video hands you a different address or a download "for MCC Island", skip it. Your kid also needs a legitimate Microsoft or Mojang account: the server's rules say every player has to use an account bought directly from Microsoft or Mojang, and alt dispensers and stolen accounts are banned. If the account is a child account, a parent has to switch multiplayer on first. My Minecraft parental controls guide has the click path.

Is MCC Island free? What the store sells

Joining is free. There's no application step: the official join steps are just adding the address above. You can earn cosmetics in-game through crafting, trading, quests and the Event Pass.

The store at store.mccisland.net is where the money goes. As of November 2026 it sells:

Prices run from about $5 for a small gem pack up to about $115 for the top rank, and they bounce around, so check the storefront. The listed perks are cosmetic, convenience and progression boosts. Checkout goes through Tebex and takes PayPal, Mastercard and Visa.

The parts I'd tell a parent about:

Decide on a spending limit before the first checkout, not after.

Chat, moderation and reporting

MCC Island is a public server with public text chat and a party system, so your kid will be around strangers. The Noxcrew Community Code of Conduct (updated February 2026) bans swearing and NSFW or sexual content, discrimination (it calls this zero-tolerance), harassment and threats, scams, advertising other servers, impersonating staff, spam and team griefing. Punishments run from mutes and warnings to permanent bans, at Noxcrew's discretion.

To report someone, use /report in-game with a valid reason. For extra evidence you can use the Modmail bot on the MCC Discord, which is anonymous. Reports are confidential. Moderators are chosen through applications, and they won't discuss moderation actions in public channels or DMs, so don't expect a running commentary on what happened to the person you reported.

The rules include a line I'd read to any kid: disclosing real-life personal information could lead to hacking, impersonation or doxxing, because you never really know who's behind the screen. Names, school, address and photos stay out of chat.

The MCC Discord and the forums are separate spaces from the game, with their own people in them. Same age rules apply, same caution.

Trading and scams

This is the real risk on the server. Players can trade cosmetics and items, and the help centre is blunt: players are responsible for the outcome, and lost cosmetics, items or coins can't be replaced or reimbursed. There are several confirmation windows before a trade finalises, so slow down and read every one.

The patterns the help centre warns about:

Trading real money for in-game items is banned, and so are buy-in giveaways. A simple family rule covers most of it: no trading with people you don't know, and never trade anything you can't afford to lose.

Account safety and 2FA

MCC Island has its own optional two-factor setup. Run /auth setup, then /auth complete with the code from your authenticator app. Once it's on, trading is blocked until you log in with /auth login and a code, so a stolen session can't empty your cosmetics. The help page itself says to ask a parent or carer if 2FA is new to you, and it recommends turning it on for Microsoft and Discord accounts too.

The rest is plain hygiene. Never share your password, join only through play.mccisland.net, and don't download "MCC Island hacks" or clients. The rules ban mods that change gameplay, and only approved client mods are allowed.

What age is MCC Island for?

The Noxcrew terms require players to be at least the minimum legal age to consent to data processing: at least 13 in the US and UK, and 13 to 16 in the EU depending on the country. Players certify they meet it themselves, and an account found to be under the minimum age may be terminated. No source I found mentions an age check when you join, so in practice it's on the household.

My advice: 13 is the floor, and in some EU countries it's higher, so check yours. Under that, wait, and look at a server built for younger kids instead. For a comparison with the other big minigame server, see whether Hypixel is safe.

What parents should switch on

  1. Multiplayer permission on the Microsoft account, if it's a child account. Follow the parental controls guide.
  2. MCC Island 2FA with /auth setup, plus 2FA on the Microsoft and Discord accounts.
  3. A spending rule. No saved card, or a fixed limit, and a look at whether MCC+ is on a subscription.
  4. The reporting basics: /report, and tell a parent when someone asks for something odd.
  5. The no-trading-with-strangers rule.

So, is MCC Island safe?

Short version

For players 13 and up (older in some EU countries), MCC Island is a well-run, free-to-join Java server with clear rules, reporting and 2FA. The risks are trading scams, public chat and a store with no refunds and one auto-renewing plan. Turn on 2FA, set a spending limit and skip trading with strangers. Under the age floor, wait.
