The Best Minecraft Earth Servers in 2026: EarthMC and the Alternatives (Java and Bedrock IPs)

Survival on a shrunk-down map of the real planet, the addresses to paste, which ones let Bedrock in, and where to go if EarthMC isn't your thing.

A Minecraft earth server is a survival server where the world is a scaled-down copy of the real planet. You claim land on a continent you recognise and trade or squabble with neighbours across real oceans. The name you'll hear first is EarthMC, and it gets the most space here. But it's Java only, it queues you when it's full, and its politics aren't for everyone, so here are three more, checked on their own sites in October 2026.

Quick one before we start: this isn't about Minecraft Earth, the augmented-reality phone game. Mojang shut that down on June 30, 2021, and you can't play it anymore.

What makes an earth server an earth server

Server directories define them as survival servers on a fixed-size scale replica of the real world, usually with an economy and geopolitics. Three things set them apart:

Player counts are one moment on one day, not a promise.

EarthMC: the Minecraft earth server most people mean

EarthMC calls itself "the Minecraft earth server" and says it's the original, running since 2016. The world doesn't reset for years, so what you build and who you ally with sticks. The map is rendered from satellite height and terrain data, and there's a live web map at earthmc.net/map for scouting a spot. On scale, its own site quotes PC Gamer describing it as a 500-to-1 recreation of the Earth.

EarthMC IP and how to join

Java players join at join.earthmc.net, no port needed: Multiplayer, Add Server, paste the address. EarthMC says the old play.earthmc.net address is no longer in use, and some server lists show a different one again. Go with join.earthmc.net.

Bedrock isn't supported. You need Java Edition and a bought Minecraft account. When the server's full you go into a queue, and /queue shows where you are in it. Once you're in a town, there's also a personal join address, yourusername.earthmc.net, which EarthMC says automatically adds you to your town.

Your first hour: join a town or found one

You've got two ways in. The easy one is joining an existing town: ask for an invite and type /accept, or walk into an open town with /t join <town>. That's what I'd do first: you get neighbours and someone to ask dumb questions.

The other way is founding your own. A new town costs 64 gold ingots with /t new <name> and starts as a single chunk. Each extra chunk is 16 gold with /t claim. Your town can join a nation with /n join, but only if the nation's capital has its homeblock within 3,000 blocks of your town, so where you plant your flag matters.

Watch the inactivity rules. A mayor who's gone for 42 days loses the rank, and a town where no resident logs in for 42 days gets deleted.

Towns, nations and the economy

EarthMC runs on Towny: build a town, form a nation, deal with the neighbours. Gold is the main currency, and you earn it from taxes, mining and trading. The server counts over 500 player-made shops. There's roleplay too, and a rocket update that takes you to the moon, hydrogen fuel and oxygen included.

Premium and the queue

Playing is free. Premium is an optional paid rank, and EarthMC says it's what keeps the game free for thousands of players. It gets you queue priority, longer view distance, a double ender chest, 8 monthly cosmetic mystery crates, a territory colour, an inactivity shield, VPN play and a lower-latency network. Check the store for the current price if you're curious.

Most of that is comfort stuff. Two perks actually touch the game: skipping ahead in the queue, and the inactivity shield, which lets a Premium mayor keep their mayorship for good while everyone else loses it after 42 days away.

Good: the busiest earth server here, with deep town and nation play.

Not so good: Java only, a queue when it's full, and a political game that can feel like homework if you just want to build. Checked October 14, 2026.

CosmosMC Earth SMP: the crossplay pick

If your group is half Java, half Bedrock, this is the one. Everyone joins at play.cosmosmc.org, and Bedrock players use port 19132. Cosmos says any version works on both editions, it's free, and there's no whitelist. Once you're in, pick Earth SMP from the menu; the network also runs Survival, OneBlock and Islands SMP.

The Earth map is a 1:80 replica of the real planet, which Cosmos calls one of the largest public Minecraft Earth maps, and it never resets. It isn't Towny: you claim land with a golden shovel, griefing's banned, and you build. There's a player-run economy, a real-estate market, and vehicles like planes and tanks that you buy with in-game money through /shop. No mods needed; the resource pack loads itself.

Good: crossplay on one address, a big map that never resets, and no politics unless you start some.

Not so good: if nations and wars are the draw, this is calmer than you want. And the crowd's split across four worlds: 50 were on Earth SMP when I checked, 98 on the whole network. Checked October 14, 2026.

DiplomaticaMC: Towny geopolitics with gentler war

DiplomaticaMC is the closest thing on this list to EarthMC's game: Towny towns and nations on a custom Earth map, this one at 1 block to 450 metres. Join at diplomaticamc.com. You need a valid Java Edition account on version 1.21 or newer.

War is where it's different. It runs SiegeWar, and the rules are built so a war doesn't flatten what you've built: it's opt-in, non-destructive, conflicts only happen at weekends, and there's no plundering. Towns cost 64 gold ingots and nations 1,024. You start with one 16 by 16 chunk and expand for 16 gold per claim with /t claim. There's no town upkeep, but if you're inactive for 60 days your Towny data gets deleted. The rest is semi-vanilla with mcMMO, Brewery and ChestShops.

Good: real geopolitics with war rules that won't wreck your town, and no upkeep bill.

Not so good: Java accounts only, and a much smaller crowd. A server directory showed 38 of 150 slots full on October 14, 2026.

BuildTheEarth: a 1:1 build project, not a survival server

BuildTheEarth turns up when you search for earth servers, but it's a different thing entirely: a global community project to rebuild the entire planet in Minecraft at 1:1 scale, real buildings at real size. No survival economy, no nations: you're visiting or building.

It's huge. As of October 2026 its site counts more than 1,060,000 buildings, 1,090 square kilometres of area and 17,600-plus builders. The work is split between regional Build Teams, each running its own server for its country or area.

Short version: the other three are survival games on a squashed map. BuildTheEarth is where you go to see your own street, or help build it.

Minecraft earth server Bedrock IP

Bedrock and phone players, start with CosmosMC at play.cosmosmc.org, port 19132. If that won't connect, follow the steps on Cosmos's own site. AppleMC runs an Earth SMP mode alongside Lifesteal and FFA, at play.applemc.fun with Bedrock on port 19132.

EarthMC doesn't support Bedrock and DiplomaticaMC needs a Java account, so skip both. On a phone, type in the address and the port when you add the server. If you're on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch and can't see anywhere to type an address, my guide on how to add servers on Minecraft Xbox covers every route that works on console.
