Lifesteal servers run on one brutal rule: kill a player and you steal one of their hearts, die and you lose one of yours. Hit zero and you're out. Depending on the server, that means a ban until somebody revives you, or sitting it out in spectator. The fine print changes from server to server, though. Whether you can craft hearts, how revives work and what zero actually does to you are all up to whoever runs the place, so read the rules before your first fight, not after your last heart.
Now the naming mess. The Lifesteal SMP you've been watching on YouTube is a private, invite-only series for content creators. Jepexx and Mapicc started it as a regular hardcore SMP on July 12, 2021, and ParrotX2 suggested the heart-stealing twist that gave it its name. You can't join it. What you can join are the public servers it inspired, and "lifesteal SMP" has turned into the genre label everyone uses for them. Below are six of those, all online when I checked in October 2026, each with its Java address plus the Bedrock address and port wherever the server gives one. Player counts are a single moment, not a promise.
Lifesteal server IPs at a glance
| Server | Java | Bedrock | What it is | Online when checked (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LifeSteal SMP | lifestealsmp.com | lifestealsmp.com, port 19132 | Dedicated lifesteal SMP | 328 |
| Netherite | bee.netherite.gg | bee.netherite.gg, port 19132 | Huge network, lifesteal is one mode | 14,225 / 15,000 |
| BananaSMP | play.bananasmp.net | play.bananasmp.net, port 19132 | Lifesteal SMP plus PvP modes | 665 / 2,500 |
| Lifesteal (lifesteal.rip) | play.lifesteal.rip | lifesteal.bedrock.minehut.gg, port 19132 | Smaller lifesteal server with an economy | 129 / 500 |
| MinePeak | go.minepeak.org | Java only | Minigame network, lifesteal is one mode | 743 / 15,000 |
| MineMalia Network | play.minemalia.com | Java only | Big UK network, lifesteal is one mode | 206 / 2,000 |
LifeSteal SMP (lifestealsmp.com): the one with the name
Same name as the show, but this one you can actually join. It's a semi-vanilla survival server running the standard rules: kill for a heart, die and lose one. Java players connect at lifestealsmp.com, and there are regional addresses too, eu.lifestealsmp.com and na.lifestealsmp.com. Bedrock players on PC or mobile add lifestealsmp.com on port 19132. You need a bought Minecraft account. Its own FAQ says cracked accounts can't join.
What sets it apart is everything around the hearts. There are clans, base raiding and trading, an Auction House that runs on Credits, public Sword, Mace and Crystal PvP arenas, and a /duel command for custom fights anywhere from 1v1 to 4v4. On top of that it runs daily and weekly events. It had 328 players online when I checked, and its Discord lists 61,269 members.
Good: it's built around lifesteal rather than bolting it onto a network, works on both editions, and has enough going on (clans, raids, duels) that losing a fight doesn't mean you've run out of things to do.
Not so good: there's a Credit Shop that sells ranks and crate keys. Have a look at what those actually get you before you decide how you feel about it. Checked October 2026.
Netherite: the busiest by a mile
Netherite had 14,225 of its 15,000 slots full when I looked, which puts it in a different weight class from everything else here. Java and Bedrock share one address, bee.netherite.gg, with Bedrock on port 19132, so a mixed group can all get in without swapping notes. It's US-hosted.
Lifesteal is one mode on a broader network, next to Survival, Factions, Prison and Skyblock. Netherite bills itself as the "BEST TRADING SERVER", so expect trading to be a big part of the culture.
Good: crossplay on one address, and you'll never be short of people.
Not so good: those 14,000-odd players are spread across every mode, so don't read that number as a packed lifesteal world. Checked October 2026.
BananaSMP: lifesteal with a side of PvP
BananaSMP is crossplay with one address for both editions: play.bananasmp.net, with Bedrock on port 19132. It runs a Lifesteal SMP next to a regular Survival SMP, plus Practice, Random Kits, SkyPvP and BoxPVP, with weekly events on top. It pitches itself as a community server with a YouTuber flavour.
It had 665 of 2,500 slots full when I checked, and that number moved by a couple of dozen within the same day, so think "600-ish" rather than a fixed figure.
Good: a solid mid-sized crowd, crossplay, and plenty of practice modes where you can warm up your PvP before you risk real hearts.
Not so good: like the networks, it splits its players across several modes, so not everyone online is in the lifesteal world. Checked October 2026.
Lifesteal (play.lifesteal.rip): the smaller one
Want a smaller crowd? This one had 129 of 500 slots full when I checked. Its listing says it's been running for 3+ years, and it mixes classic gamemode ideas into lifesteal, with Survival, Economy, PvP and KitPvP all in the tags.
Java players join at play.lifesteal.rip. Bedrock is the bit to watch: the Bedrock address is a different hostname entirely, lifesteal.bedrock.minehut.gg on port 19132, because Bedrock players come in through a Minehut-hosted bridge.
Good: a smaller server where people might actually learn your name, with an economy to play with between fights.
Not so good: smaller also means quieter hours, so hop on at the time you'd normally play and see if chat's alive before you commit. Checked October 2026.
MinePeak: lifesteal on a minigame network
MinePeak is Java only. Its own listing says so plainly, so Bedrock players can skip it. The address is go.minepeak.org, and it had 743 of 15,000 slots full when I checked.
Lifesteal is one mode among a lot of them: Survival, OP Survival, Duels, KitPvP, BedWars, SkyWars, Murder Mystery and Build Battle. Think of it as a minigame network that happens to have a lifesteal world rather than a dedicated lifesteal SMP.
Good: if you burn out on losing hearts, there's a whole menu of other games on the same network.
Not so good: Java only, and lifesteal is a side dish here, not the main course. Checked October 2026.
MineMalia Network: the big UK option
MineMalia is another Java-only network, at play.minemalia.com, and it's UK-hosted, so it's worth a look if you're playing from Europe. It had 206 of 2,000 slots full when I checked.
Lifesteal sits next to Survival, Skyblock, Prison, PvP, KitPvP, Minigames, Economy, Factions and Creative.
Good: a European host and plenty to do when you're between lives.
Not so good: no Bedrock, and the player count is spread thin across all those modes. Checked October 2026.
Before you pick a lifesteal server
Every server on this list plays lifesteal a bit differently, so spend five minutes on these before you start swinging:
- What happens at zero hearts? A ban or spectator? And how do revives work? Read the server's own rules page.
- Can you craft hearts? Some servers let you, and it changes the whole pace of the game.
- What's in the store? Ranks and crate keys are normal. Open the store page and decide for yourself how much of it touches combat.
- Does it match your edition? If a server gives no Bedrock address and port, treat it as Java-only.
How to join a lifesteal server on Java or Bedrock
On Java, add a server in your Multiplayer list and paste the address, like lifestealsmp.com. On Bedrock, add a server in the Servers tab with the Bedrock address and the port, like lifestealsmp.com and 19132. For the full step-by-step on every platform, including phones and consoles, my guide to Minecraft servers to join walks through it.
Is LifeSteal SMP still active?
The original YouTuber series, yes. Season 7 started on July 20, 2025, with a roster of around 37 creators, and it's still invite-only. If you mean the public server at lifestealsmp.com, that's very much alive too: 328 people were online when I checked in October 2026.
What is the lifesteal server IP for Bedrock?
For LifeSteal SMP it's lifestealsmp.com on port 19132. Netherite (bee.netherite.gg) and BananaSMP (play.bananasmp.net) use the same address on both editions, also on port 19132. Lifesteal.rip is the odd one out: lifesteal.bedrock.minehut.gg, port 19132. MinePeak and MineMalia don't take Bedrock players at all.
Can you run a lifesteal SMP just for your friends?
Lifesteal isn't part of vanilla Minecraft. Servers add it with a plugin, so a private lifesteal SMP for your group means running a server of your own with one installed. My guide to free Minecraft server hosting covers the free ways to do that and what each one costs you in queues and limits.
So which lifesteal server should you join?
If you want a server that's all about lifesteal, on either edition, start with LifeSteal SMP. Mixed Java and Bedrock group that wants crowds? Netherite. Something mid-sized with plenty of PvP practice on the side? BananaSMP. Prefer a smaller server where you'll recognise names? lifesteal.rip, and mind that separate Bedrock address. On Java and want a network with lots of other games? MinePeak, or MineMalia if you're in Europe. If it's really the minigames you're after, my guide to Minecraft servers like Hypixel covers the big networks on both editions. And if you've decided you'd rather build a base you get to keep than risk your hearts every night, my list of the best Minecraft SMP servers is the calmer side of the same idea.
Rather not lose everything at zero hearts?
Folly is an upcoming standalone voxel game. It's free, no purchases required, and it isn't Minecraft. Your universe starts as one small island in the void, and it's yours permanently. You can't play it yet: early access opens on PC on October 16, 2026. Here's how Folly's island works.
